Job Description

Our client is a highly successful and progressive family run Insurance Brokerage in West London for over 40 years

This new role is integral to the growth plans of the Company, as your knowledge of both Finance and Compliance will be paramount to supporting the Directors in delivering exceptional service and exceptional results.

Our client is based in modern self-contained offices with onsite parking, access to local transport links and an array of local amenities.

Reporting into the Board, this is a varied role involving heading up the account's activities for General Insurance brokers and associated property interests and leading and maintaining a robust compliance framework.

This role would ideally suit someone who has a Financial Qualification and has had exposure to and understanding of, the world of insurance and FCA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Accounts
  • Daily bank reconciliations
  • Monthly insurer account reconciliation
  • Monthly management accounts
  • Credit control
  • Rental income reconciliations and other property related matters
  • Vat returns where required
  1. Compliance
  • Lead and maintain FCA compliance regime
  • Provide advice and guidance regarding regulatory change requirements
  • Prepare regulatory submissions
  • Support the business in reviewing and recording of Terms of Business Agreements and Contracts
  • Support the Board to ensure the Company has appropriate second line oversight of business practices/processes, ensuring operations are compliant
  • Assist the function in ensuring that policies and procedures are reviewed and updated periodically

Key Skills and Attributes

  • ACCA/AAT/CMA or similar Qualification
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office, in particular Excel
  • Quickbooks, Xero or similar financial software essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong commercial sense
  • Proactive and driven approach
  • Ability to work quickly under pressure
  • High attention to detail
  • Must have experience of working in a similar accounting role
